I have plain brown hair and tan skin, and I want to add highlights. I don't know what color to do my highlights in other than blonde, and I don't like the way light blonde and dark brown looks together because I don't like the contrast.
What are some other colors I could add to my hair other than blonde?
Here is the best picture I have of my blonde hair and skin tone:

Anyone have any ideas on what color highlights i should do in my hair?
i have a scene hair cut and my hair is a dirty blonde color. I was wondering if anyone new any colors that would look good in like patches like on my bangs and stuff.Anyone have any ideas on what color highlights i should do in my hair?

Go to this site and upload a pic of your self to get a better idea.
dark colors make lighter eye colors pop out more, because of the contrast. But be careful, because it might look too unnatural and gross if you dye your hair too dark. My friend has naturally dark brown hair and light blue eyes; his eyes stand out a lot. I would go with dark brown, but it also depends on your skin tone. Fair-skinned people might want to go for a lighter shade of dark brown, while more tan people would want to go for darker shades. Etc. etc.Anyone have any ideas on what color highlights i should do in my hair?
Lighter blond or copper.
dye your hair black/dark brown then put red highlightsmozila

Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?
We have a hair school about 15 min from me that is cheaper than a regular salon because it is students. I really dont have the money to go to an all out salon %26amp; get my hair tipped. You think they would do an ok job?Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?
They might if the teachers are supervising. Usually when the students are doing colors, the teachers always have to supervise because it is a chemical that they are working with for safety reasons. I am a hairstylist and when we started using color, the teacher always mixed it while we observed and applied it as well. They only let a student do this when they know they are ready. Go to the school and ask about the proceedure and what to expect. I think they can do an okay job.Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?
No, because a lot of girls have done hair and makeup their whole lives practicing on their friends and family. I would definitely have my hair done by beauty students.
no its very bad to odo such things if you can find a cheaper salon thats just good
a highlight should be okay
even if it goes wrong, you can always re-dye it again
but never try a haircut!
you cant fix a messed up haircut without having it shortened =)
Oh my lord, I had such a bad experience with a student ,they cut my shoulder lenghth hair into a bob but it was crooked so they cut it shorter, this went on until ,and I swear this is true,my hair was just below my ears,AND i was going to a wedding the next day.Good luck.
NO, their just trainees
Look... the way I see it... if you don't have your styling license... you are not touching my hair!! I don't think you would want to be somebody's guinea pig!!
Yes, beauty school students are supervised so they generally do a good job. First make sure you get them to do a test to check you are not allergic to their products.
go for it the good thing is with places like that is that they are cheaper and sometimes you come out looking better than when you went in. Pus they cant really mess up because they are constantly supervised by professionals and if if something does go wrong the professionals would know how to fix it.
I don't think it's a bad idea. The students are closely monitored by the instructors. If the student seems to be having some trouble, or appears to not be doing something correctly, the instructor will guide them through or sometimes the instructor will take the scissors and finish the job herself.
no way! i get my hair done all the time by beauty students. lots of tricky things too. layers angles highlights all at once. they're great at it and eager to learn and are sometimes a lot nicer than regular hair stylists!
yes i would
not a bad idea if they are well supervised
yes I think is it a bad a idea. For the simple fact that the girl's working there are praticing and learning how to still. But for maybe something less harded, like a trim.
It would be fine. A beauty school is just that. Students learning. I have been many times and my hair always turns out just fine. The teachers will only allow students to do what they know they are good at. They are not going to put you with a student who just started a week ago. The students that will be coloring your hair will be the ones that will be graduating the soonest and know what they are doing. Also, the teachers are there watching, helping %26amp; advising the students the entire time.
If it would make you feel more comfortable, when you go into the facility just ask whom ever they schedule you with how long before they graduate. That will give you an answer right away. I have never had a bad experience %26amp; would recemend it to anyone.
i dont think its bad. its lot cheaper. every salon u go to so expensive, even for a trim. they do geat job. even if they do anything wrong, their supervisor/tutor is always there to fix it and give you more dicount as it went slightly wrong.
Having your hair done by beauty students is a great idea. It saves you money and gives them practice. Just because they aren't licensed yet, doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. They are learning - but the school wouldn't let them use live models if they didn't know what they were doing. I have done this before and it was the BEST hair color I have EVER gotten. And it was SO cheap Plus, they usually have a supervisor watching them to make sure they don't mess anything up.
I think its a good idea and its much cheaper. But make sure that when you make your appointment to always ask for your hair to be done by a senior student because they have more experience and they usually do a better job. Been there and done that. Trust me
My daughter recently had her hair cut and highlighted by a student. The trainer stood with the student at all times, did most of the cutting and highlighting and gave a running commentary all the time the work was being done. She paid 拢20 for it, but would normally have had to pay at least 拢70. It's a good deal if you ask me, but pick a salon that monitors the student at all times.
try it at your own risk, u have to sign a waver before u can get it done.....p.s. u get what u pay for.

I have just below shoulder-length layered dark brown hair with caramel/honey highlights and need style ideas?
try loose curls with a curling iron, hold it straight up and down while your doing it, and grab hair with the curling iron around the middle of the section, (as opposed to starting to curl from the bottom), and then wrap the hanging hair around the iron manually. so you dont have those straight and then ringlet at the bottom peices.
then spray some texturizing or hairspray and shake it around to make it wavy.
orrrr um, pomping your bangs is always cute. try twisting your bangs or front peices of hair and push it up into one.

I want to get blond highlight's in my hair...nose and belly button piercing but my mum won't let me. any ideas?
my school is closing in 1 week and after we have exams. after my exams i want to go and get blond highlight in my hair or die it black. i evan want to get a nose and belly button piercing but my mum won't let me. will i need her permission to get them done?
how painful are the piercings?
what can i do to convince her?
thanks:-)
btw i am 14I want to get blond highlight's in my hair...nose and belly button piercing but my mum won't let me. any ideas?
Your only 14, I would listen to your mom. When I was your age I thot I new everything and Im 29 and Im so glad my mom raised me teh way that she did. You have planty of years ahead of you to do all of that.I want to get blond highlight's in my hair...nose and belly button piercing but my mum won't let me. any ideas?
Yes, you have to have her permission for the piercings. Once you are 18 you don't anymore, though. I would wait. It seems really important now, but it's not the end of the world if you don't get to pierce your nose and belly button or dye your hair black. You should respect that your mom has already said, ';No';. You can try talking to her more, politely about your reasons for wanting this, but don't get mad when she keeps saying no. If you prove yourself to be responsible and a good kid, she is more likely to consider it. But you're only 14, I have a hard time believe that she will let you do something like this at so young. You don't legally need her permission for the hair, but you will just make the entire situation worse if you go and do it without her.
1. You're 14, you can't get a belly button piercing, you're underage.
2. You're 14, you SHOULDN'T get those piercings. You'll look like a harlot.
3. Dying hair black/blonde highlights can be seen as really chavvy when paired with belly button piercings.
4. For blonde highlights, I hear that lemon juice can make your hair a little bit lighter.
5. Your mum knows best. Trust me, it's taken me a long time to realise it, but it's true.
i'm 14 aswell, well my mum let me have blonde highlights put in my hair when ii was nearly 13, and i would advise you not to have any peircings besides your ears until your about 16 or 18, because a few of my friends have had their nose + belly button peirced, and after pestering their parents for AGES, they finaly got what they want, and they now regret it, because it kills getting it done in the first place, but it also gets really really really bad infections in your belly button,
i would advise anyone at our age not to,
and so do my friends who have already had theirs done!
hope you read and take that in ! :)

You're 14 so you should listen to your mum because she is the boss.
Don't go behind her back and get the piercings without her permission because you will just break her trust and she will never trust you again!
Just wait until you're older.
Btw, if you want black hair OR blonde highlights, you obviously don't really know what you want for sure.
they are no that painfulll actally its lyk getting yur ears pirced it dont hurt that much. and ther are places yu dont have to have yur parents premission but i got mine done cus my friends cousin is one of those ppl and my ears becus my frend has the gun soo yeaa i didint get it profesinly done but call around to see if yu can get it w/o her.
well it doesnt hurt. but serisouly just wait till you are 18. thats the best way. the only reason your mom doesnt want you to get piercings is because it makes people lable you and yes you say you dont care. but your parents do because it reflects them. But i do understand. cause i want to get my lip pierced and my mom told me to wait and i did and now i love it :]
nothing. you are 14 years old, why would you want to have that crap in your body? Belly piercings are trampy first off. and nose piercings look like zits.
As for the blonde hilights, just rub lemons in your hair and sit in the sun.
You wont be able to get piercings done without parents permission til you are 18. Getting your hair dyed I think you can do. But make up your mind... highlights or died black! You could get one that washes out in 24 washes or something like that.
i have both done, doesnt hurt.
wait till your at least 16 again to ask her
or wait till your legally allowed to do it yourself. 18
and dont die your hair black. usually only people with natural black hair look good with black.
Wait till you are at least 16 because you might change your mind by then. And your still very young so i would listen to your mom.
Listen to your Mum, she sounds like a sensible lady to me!
most places wont alllow you to get it done without ur mum there and some ID
sorry i agree with your mom hehe
wait tell ur 18 so she cant stop u..
Well, if I were your mother, I probably wouldn't let you either.
What you should have done, is ask for one thing at a time, and a little more spaced out. You asked her for like 3 things all at once, and she was probably a little overwhelmed with the bodily changes you're willing to make, and just said no right off the bat.
In regard with dying your hair black...
Have you ever thought of what it's going to look like when it grows back? The roots are gonna be growing back, and it's going to be really obvious. I don't think this looks all that great, if your natural hair colour is significantly darker or lighter than what you dyed it. And besides, with summer coming... you might not want dark hair, it will be really hot!
Highlights are okay though, you can probably convince your mom to do that. Even if you just convince her to get temporary ones, that way you can meet her half way. They'll wash out in a couple of weeks, and maybe you can do it again after if she approves.
And with the piercings... facial ones are always the ones that parents will be iffy over. What if you go and get a job? Places don't always hire kids with metal in their face. If they do, you might be required to take it out when you go in for your shift. And then, there will be an obvious hole in your nose. Think over these things!
When I was young and thinking about tatt's and piercings, my mom always brought up marriage. She always made me picture me on my wedding day in a beautiful dress... and with tattoo's sticking out of the dress, and holes in my face. Having to airbrush the photos... Let your imagination go on that one.
The belly button one is alright, but you're still kind of young. Maybe you should wait.
Good luck.
